About:
“Much of my work simply delights in those places which are unremarkable and without spectacle”.
I owe a huge debt to the Art teachers at my high school. I don’t know how they did it but they taught me how to look at, and to love making artwork. I am curious about visual language and the language of the visual. Towns and the edges of towns interest me. Much of my work simply delights in those places which are unremarkable and without spectacle.
I reflect on how place shape’s identity and memory, where meaning is both steadfast and fugitive. Where routines, rituals and habits accrete – and haunt our reflection. Where territory is both ancient and immediate, distant and intimate.
